Alright, since I have nothing new to add, let me guide you what life I'm having at Temasek Polytechnic. Everyday, my lesson would either starts at 9 or 10 in the morning. Of course, the bus will be full of commuters and I always have to wait for the next bus to catch. Sometimes, I have no choice but to take Express bus which does cost more than usual ones.
Upon reaching the bus stop, we have to climb up the stairs which adjacently links the bus shelter to the bridge itself which connects to the school. Over there, you should wear your lanyard so that the security guard let you in. Although you can always try another way of entering the school. Next stop is the ITAS school.
Let me intro a bit about the school, the school building itself constructed to contain two schools, IT school and Applied Science school. There are also another three more schools with individual buildings. The largest building is the Engineering building that strectch from the plaza to the staff apartment. You could take a look at the map too. IT school is situated right at the right hand corner of the school. It mainly have four blocks and the other four blocks are occupied by the Applied Science school. So you could say that we bump each other quite often.
Before you could enter any of the class, you must have your temperature taken. Even though Singapore was written off from Sars-affected country list, it is just a precautionary measure that it maintains that way. If you pass, you will get the sticker at the TSS (Thermo-Scan Station). You need the sticker and the lanyard to sit through a class or else you will be thrown out. There is 12 lecture hall for IT school, and I'm sure that Applied Science have all 12 too since we are in the same building.
The classes are located at level 4 to 6. We do have classes that are located in all the 4 blocks. Sometimes, during lab session, we use blk 3 because it is bigger and has the quality of being called a Lab. About printing notes, we had to share a printer which connected by using its own cable line. So, there is a tendency for a long queue if there is lots of people printing at the same time. When this happens, I usually proceed to vacant lab where there is a few of the students printing. The bad side is, there is printing quota, which means that you have limited usuage which are often set by the lab technician. They will usually set after each month. For the time being, I have not crossed over the qouta yet.
During break time, there will be hordes of students from all the five schools. They are free to roam about to other schools' canteens. So you can imagine you have mixed students from all five schools eating together at one of the canteens. Some other reasons are that the students may be bored with the same kind of food they consumed so they explored and tried all the different foods sold at different canteens. There western food, typical Hainanese Chicken Rice, there also restaurants namely The Saffron and Blitz point for staff only. There is also Jupiter Cafe and Noorgen Vaaz. Some of the waiter and waitresses are from TP too.
Well, after a stressful day and you would wonder where is the place to have a really great time or to chill out is the student lounge. It was located at the Personal Development Centre building. There are TV sets, pool table, good comfy, and game table too. It is a really nice place to relax. Besides that, we have our very own ten-storey library. With full of resources from level one to ten, it is a sure place for one stop information. All in all, we had the facilities that tailored for us.
There is a lot of places I have not mention here. Well, if you are planning to study here, be my guest or just read about my exciting adventures here. Be sure to read my blog for news updates. Alright, I have to turn in now. That's all folks.
