Erm..nothing much to blog today except I just want to have a piece of say about The Casino
I know people here are hoo-haa about The Casino... my mum despises it to the very core...Even though she is no political women, she knows how to tackle such issues here
The government obviously think that it would be such a great idea to pull in tourist by using Casino...I'm not suprised if they meant to pull in 17 million tourist by the end of 2009...
Even though they may imposed high entrance fee for Singaporeans...have they spare a thought about chronic gamblers of 4D, toto, horse-racing...etc.... I have seen them putting bets more than a hundred just like that....
On top of that, they are not white-collar men, they are just ordinary folks who are still worrying about bills for the next month...
Let me digress and putting a tight scope on the Malays here....
I'm know being racist but the malay might not know the consequences they have brought upon themselves if they were to venture into these forbidden places....it is not wrong for them to look at it, but the temptation of gambling will rise deep within and unleash unimaginable drug called Gambling Addiction...they may first win a few hundred dollars and cover it up by putting it back to the gambling table, but if they won back a few thousand dollars, would they put it back for the sack it is forbidden....
For one thing, it would be disgrace for our community...secondly, God knows what will fall upon them next morning...the danger they are inviting may never be small....think about loansharks...
They may be a parasite at these casinos, preying on broked man....offering wads of cash with crazy interest....
Thanks to the government quick thinking they had proposed a police unit just for the casino alone....
Yesterday I just caught Las Vegas on TV....I could have already imagined people immitating the roles they have seen on TV....Think about Ocean's Eleven and the sequel...you think it is going to happen, fat hope....
No matter what crime has been spawned from the very beginning of the proposal, the government are not that stupid either....Crime just won't work here....
Talking about crime, there are possibilities of people being pick-pocket out of nowhere...
What I'm trying to say here is that whether you have the casino or not, the danger is still there....Thinking about creating jobs....what about the loansharks...they are thinking about this golden opportunity too....It is all in the common sense...
If the problem with the underage have not been solve yet, what do you think are there in store for the MUIS....I'm not suprised if the MUIS decided to tackle such issues as in Malaysia right now...Think about the problems that ordinary folks may faced....once they fall into the deep abyss that the casino is creating, there maybe no way out....
We have to see the outcome....will the casino be like the Fantasy Island and Volcano Land?
