Today's journey was a little bit interesting...
My notebook has been making a lot of noise and I had no choice but to bring it to Acer Service Centre which is located as far as this island can stretch...I had no choice but to go there...Of all places why it decided to put only one Acer Service Centre...
I had to take a painful long journey to Jurong East...yes, Jurong East which is at the end of Singapore....Furthermore, I had no experience or whatsoever of the place there....
Upon reaching the MRT-Bus Interchange, I was immediately overwhelmed by its huge bus station that I could easily get lost...thanks to the map that I brought with me, I was like just any idiot tourist there....
So, I quickly go and look for the bus which was indicated by the map legend and I spotted 51...I knew exactly where to stop but the thing is that the building was so foreign....
So I just sat in the bus cool while opening my eyes wide to look for the German Centre....I was totally petrified by then because I was so like an alien...
In the bus, I enjoyed the ride just like a fun-ride around Jurong East housing estate...The bus was super slow so that I felt like I was part of the parade...Once the bus hit the main road, I must keep on a look out and make sure that the bus is still on Jurong Town Hall stretch...so much of paying attention that I spotted AYE overhead and the bus had stopped after it....I knew immediately that I should have missed the stop already...
The German Centre was not located beyond the AYE and so unfortunately that I had to walk back to where it is...luckily for me, I had only missed two stops...and there is was with prominent Arial-font 'German Centre'. And to only make sure it is German is the strip of black, yellow and orange(I think) lining at the top of the building...
By then, I never stop relying on the map on the back of the warranty card. It said is just located right next to the German Centre only to be divided by one short road. So yeah, I went round of this building hoping it is the right building...with so much luck, big green 'ACER' was blocked by a bush...Suddenly, a sense of de ja vu overwhelmed me...and I know I had been there once with my desktop pc...If somebody who is only a first-timer there, could get lost often....the service center was right at the back making it like unaccessible...
The sign indicate the the service centre was located at the right of the left of the building so when I peeked, it is only one narrow pathway that seemed that nobody had frequent there...as there is much curiosity in a cat as in me, I went around the building and only to be greeted by another sign indicate 'Service Centre' with an arrow pointing to the right...Yup, I was lucky enough that the service center was pretty quiet...
Pressed the machine for queue number and hopefully one of the ten counters there serve me....it didn't take long for a beep and there my number 1028 flashed...I told the problem about the fan and he just disappeared behind the door labelled 'PRIVATE'...
The last time I went there, there were cubicles but now, it is only one long desk and a little peripherals on their desk... The quy that was servicing my notebook had two of his laptops on with one playing ABBA, (I think) it was like one from the sixties....After he had my particulars and my notebook, he just left me with the music...I take the chance to read some of the tabloids in the new paper than to listen to one of his ridiculous songs(no offense)....
It just takes a matter of minutes that he came back with a ventillation fan in his hand....he explained that the fan's bearing was faulty which caused unnecessary cacophony when I played my The Rasmus In My Life....it was the same for the rest too...
After signing a service report, I went out and only to find an indian quy who was supposedly fixing his laptop too...he just walked past me and it just caused unneccessary tension...I don't like people to walk and become my shadow...so yeah, I just let him past me first....
Thinking that I may get lost, I decided to walk to Jurong East interchange back....it was not that far, only a couple of blocks a way...and it was nearer than I had expected....
So here I'm right now, after catching my lunch and ready to go back to my sweet home in Tampines...
