It has been close to a month. I wished the time flies even faster. Nevertheless, I didn't really feel it that much here. I still have some homesickness though. I could dream vividly of my family, friends back in SG. I really miss my cat too..
Last weekend, we visited the Singapore Visitor centre and not-really surprising to see a Singaporean man behind the counter desk. Wearing plain casual white shirt and khaki pants, he greeted us in some dialect that I couldn't decipher. Others start to reply in that alien language too. In matter of minutes, a new acquaitance have been made. Learning from him, he was actually has been working here in Chennai for almost two years. Shannon owned a business here and married to one of the employees in Singapore Tourism Board. He once in a while dropped in the office whenever his wife isn't around.
After he let his guard down, sensing that we are newbie here, he recommended us a few places worth visiting. Only one exception though, he has loads of powerful contacts. Not a self-denial person, Shannon claimed that he is still an 'Ah beng' as he was in Singapore. Litterally, he still have the accent to prove his stand.
The Singapore Visitor Centre was not that far way from our workplace. Although it covers quite a distance, the place is accessible along a major road. After almost an hour or so chatting with him and getting some life accounts, we set off to try one of the bowling alleys only to find that it was small with only two bowling alleys and one pool table. On top of that, the alleys were booked by a dozen group of teenagers. Dejectedly, we walk home and eager to play our newly bought CS game.
To think of it, I didn't know how to play. I wasn't even a self-proclaimed gamer. Can't fault me. Soon thereafter, I learn and almost got hook on to it. I really have to stop or else I won't be sleeping throughout the night. Halo was there too so to Sam, I can now pick up where I left off.
It was really a nice weekend and looking forward another good weekend.
