Hello blogo-folks, I'm back....
I had just celebrated my birthday on my last book out, which is last Friday, 16th. The plan was that we were going for a BBQ at East Coast Park. Of course, it was clearly a success albeit only a handful came. It was really not a squad BBQ because we only invited a few cliques of friends.
I'm not one of the organisers so I didn't know much of the entire planning process. The list of invites were also an impromptu. Meaning that those who wanted to come can come. There is nothing discriminatory or isolating about this BBQ. It is just some kind of last-minute BBQ.
No, I'm not being defensive against crude eye stares or some obvious negative responses that I would get. We are not inviting any superstars so why must be so formal.
Anyway, the whole BBQ went well except that we actually started quite late. How late? We lit up at 9.30 and the food hasn't arrived yet. When it arrived, the chicken was still frozen, we came with empty stomach. Luckily, there were some tidbits so sooth our grouchy stomach.
When the food has arrived, we quickly thawed the frozen food over the fire while we entertain ourselves with music and a deck of cards. It was such a blessed day as there wasn't any rain. After that, I saw a box of cake from The Coffee Bean. I was so touched that they actually bought the cake. I think it was Thousand Leaves Chocolate Cake with a hazelnut wafer in between it. They actually found out that my birthday after the enhancement last Thursday when I left my application form on the table. I really never expected it.
I never had any proper birthday party or anything closer as to have at least a palm-sized cake, since I was 5. So, for the last 17 years, it is just a family affair and nothing fancy except for a seafood treat at Bedok or as faraway as Batam. No, I didn't demand any glamourous birthday bash. I just like to keep it simple.
I never really thought of a wish. I really wished that my future remains bright for me. Hope that my enemies will turn into my close friends and my friends turn into a solid confidante.
I have to thank NPCO2 squad mates who taken the trouble to celebrate my birthday. Thank you very much.
I also would like to thank to my dearest of friends that I ever had since our days in Hai Sing. I didn't really expect any presents at all but the gift is just as wonderful.
Thanks to my cousin, my mother and my little nephew whose birthday is tomorrow.
I hope that any animosity that I had accidentally created, please forgive me. I sincerely apologise to whoever I had offended.
Once again. Thank you for those who had wished me.
Hahhaa, I thought I was reading some speech.
