It has been a long time since I last blog last month ago.
It has been already a month since I left TRACOM and straight to Bishan NPC. For those who don't know, Bishan NPC is part of Tanglin Division aka E Division. All I can say about Bishan is that it is relatively quite peaceful compared to the other 4 NPCs of E Div.
I was solely put in charge/taken care of by a regular officer who guided me along through the works of a policeman. I can tell you that I have hard time memorising the places and the procedures dealing with Bishan. There is no room for errors. They will treat you like you are one of them.
I don't meant to complain. It is just that the culture of the policeman is totally different. You see, normally, the public thinks that policeman is just nothing but a govt's servant. The most common complaint that a public can give to a policeman is that they are accusing we are wasting tax payer's money. The fact is, the regulars also have defended themsevles by stating that they also pay tax which is the fact.
Whenever I attend cases involving complainants wanted to effect arrest so much against another party baffles me so much. They thought that as long there is a police, there'll be an arrest made. All I can say is that it depends on the case whether the subject is wanted or not. We have to make necessary assesment before any further action taken. When we could not make an arrest, the public then lodge a complaint against us stating that we didn't do our job.
It is very difficult to please when you are a civil servant. Be it teachers, customer service agent, complainant executive, or any profession that deals largely with the public. We have to be very mindful whatever we do and once we don that uniform, it is also bind us from doing things that would tarnish the proffessional image of some organisation.
I still have a long way to go. I'm still adapting to the work here and I know some day I would just get used to it. Nowadays, policeman are facing the everyday war. We have to deal with the public almost everyday and withstand their request.
So far, I can still manage the workload. I was late and promised myself not to be late anymore. It would reflect badly on my Certificate of Service. No doubt I still miss the days in TRACOM. If you give me a day in TRACOM with my squad back, I would be grateful. Minus the busybody officers there. Honestly, it was almost like a resort to me. Lolx.
Time has passed and I have to catch up quickly or else I would be left behind. Pray hard for me so that I could survive.
