Today, I went to the SMU NSmen jamboree... Wasn't that spectacular, it was only another matriculation excercise for 300+ soon-to-be SMU students.
On the whole, the excercise was a bit brief except for the photo taking. I didn't really pay attention to whatever the students say. Mostly, they were trying to sell what their own school and what they have achieved so far.
Yeah, it is great to have overseas attachement if only you have your own resources. That's exactly what they mentioned just now. So I think, I can kiss good bye to overseas attachement. Nevertheless, I just follow through whatever they showcased.
My school term starts next year August and it has been really hard getting a fixed time to end my NS early. Although I would be getting the leaves, I'm afraid it won't be sufficient. Unless, I defered for a weeks.
When I look at the SMU students, I don't even see the difference between the poly or jc students except that they often look old per se. Not old, I meant matured. They are just like any other ordinary polytechnic students who focused only on projects.
I heard from them that Year 2 is a killer year where you have to see through loads of projects. Great. A typical student life. I really wonder what other means to gauge individuals talents and skills other than having them to engage in projects.
Many of them paint rosy pictures. Success stories plastered every posters that can ever have. Hard selling tactics I see. In this case, the NS dudes have more or less chosen their path in SMU.
Let's hope that my school term next year would be smooth sailing. Pray hard for me please.
:)
