Today, my team had lunch at Sakura Downtown East. It has been ages since I last visited Downtown East during my secondary school days. Everyone in the team was there except for Tommy who was overseas.
I’m not a buffet person but I shall not waste the money’s worth of food. The spread was moderate and sumptuous enough. I didn’t really have any favourites at the moment but I shall say that its main course of fried rice with beef and chicken was pretty good. I even tried the sushi with loads of wasabi that shoots right up in my nose.
The salmon was fantastic and it can easily make you full. My other teammates even ordered other dishes too like lamb chop and grilled salmon. Practically, I had almost tasted everything. It would have been better if we could cook our food ourselves as it will be much more fun interacting while eating.
The lunch treat was by my team leader, Rane. In appreciation of our dedication to the team, he decided to hold a treat. I thought it was a good initiative by my team leader. I believed it was all in good faith and there wasn’t any specific reason to hold except for our hard work all this while.
I do appreciate that for those who lived a distance away from Sakura Downtown East managed to come and eat together. At initial thought, some may backed out because they lived far.
However, almost in my team have personal transport so that shouldn’t be any good excuse.
After a hearty lunch, we proceeded to the new Downtown East E!Hub which houses an array of entertainment and shopping boutiques. It wasn’t officially opened yet but we went to the Cathay Cineplex at level 4. We thought of watching a movie but many had different plans. Then, we headed back to the game arcade where we had a whole lot of fun.
It had been such a long time since we had so much fun together. We played the basketball game where there would be loads of balls and you have to shoot into the moving hoops. Never mind that none of us was a master of the game. The game arcade operates till today and it would be soon shift to the new E!Hub.
The get together session ended very well and I believed everyone had so much fun. Nothing to stress about work and it was pure work-free. We didn’t even talk about work and that’s what I like about. I really wonder if we could hold such get together again.
Maybe before I leave the team, I should treat them to smoke-free buffet Seoul Garden, albeit expensive but it is for a good cause.
Keep it up, Team Alpha!
