Last Friday, I went to Malaysia with my mum and other relatives of mine to visit our Malaysian relative.
The thing is that I was a bit apprehensive about driving to Malaysia and thinking about its unpredictable rough roads and confusing road names. That night, about 1am, I'd made up my mind and went along.
I drove my car with my mum to fetch Dzaffir and Ridwan as their father's car was full with bags of clothes. I didn't really mind as long I do have company along my virgin road trip to Malaysia. As soon we depart from Punggol towards Woodlands, my heart was racing already.
I was supposed to be in between the two Hyundai Trajets that my uncles drove but I chose to lag behind instead. We whizzed passed the almost empty Seletar Expressway (SLE) and approached the Immigration Customs to get our passport stamped. Once cleared the Singapore Immigration Customs, I got a rude shock when the roads were bend haphazardly. I never had seen such roads before in my life. I had to go slow round the bends due to the high central gravity of the car.
I expected much worse after that. Luckily, there were few cars around that time. My clocked displayed 2.am. After I had given our passports to the Malaysian customs, we were supposed to pay a toll to enter Malaysia. The digital displayed outside the counter stated RM2.90, so I reached out my RM1 notes which were already beside me to hand to the female officer behind the glass. She promptly said that I had to use the Touch 'N Go card and I had to purchased it from her for RM20. Definitely, inconvenient for a while but the experience counts.
After finally get through the customs check, I met up with my uncle at the nearby Shell Petrol Station. So, this is it, I was thinking out loud. My first ever road trip to Malaysia..... t.b.c
